Pro-life group warns of vaccine’s contents

Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 7/11/2008 4:00:00

A newly licensed vaccine for several illnesses contains tissue from aborted babies.

Pentacel is a combination vaccine for five diseases approved by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices. The vaccine is to be added to the immunization schedule for children.

Debbie Vinnedge of the Children of God for Life believes parents with ethical and moral concerns should educate themselves on the product. “A lot of physicians are completely unaware, and you know they look at recommendations that the ACIP puts out and are very likely to just say ‘Well, this is what we’re supposed to be doing,’” she warns.

Vinnedge objects to tissue being used from aborted unborn babies, saying the infants should be treated with the same dignity and respect as any other person who has died. “We wouldn’t go around robbing graves to use their organs and cells to create products,” Debbie admonishes.

The Children of God website lists alternative vaccines to ones containing aborted babies. And Vinnedge notes the organization is asking members of Congress to introduce a bill that would require labeling of drugs to stipulate whether tissue from unborn babies has been used.

ACLJ • American Center for Law & Justice

Christian Rights in the Workplace Printer Friendly Forward to a FriendThe Great Commission requires believers to spread the Gospel to the four corners of the Earth. Increasingly, people are realizing that this means that we are to be witnesses in our places of work. We at The American Center for Law and Justice are being inundated with calls from both employees and employers asking what the rules are for sharing one’s faith at work.

Keeping Christ in the Workplace Video Series - C.L.A.

Recent statistics show
that,
second only to sleep, Americans spend the majority of their time in the workplace. The average
full-time American worker spends 8.3 hours a day on the job. Because of the
large amount of time spent at work, many Christians recognize that the workplace
provides an obvious opportunity for witnessing. But these Christians are now
facing increasing opposition from their
employers when they engage in
witnessing activities at work.

Today, calls to our Christian Law
Association offices show that religious issues continue to be a serious problem
for many employers and employees. However, religion remains one of the special
classifications protected in the workplace under Title VII of the federal Civil
Rights Act of 1964, along with race, color, sex, and national origin. The law
is clear that discrimination on the basis of religion in the workplace is
illegal. Nevertheless, the topic of religion, and particularly witnessing by
employers or employees, continues to be greatly misunderstood in many employment
situations.
Work

In this new legal education video
series, Attorney David Gibbs III outlines your legal rights to live a godly
Christian testimony in the secular workplace.

Introduction: How to assess your situation, and how the law protects you.

Are you able to have religious discussions?

Do you have to work on Sundays?

Christians should wear modest apparel. What are your options if a uniform is
required?

Are you allowed to exhibit Christian displays?

Can you read or hand out Christian literature?

What if you are a Christian business owner? Are there still restrictions on
you?

Understanding
the Constitution

By
Attorneys David Gibbs, Jr. and David Gibbs
III

The most
important legal document in American history is the United States Constitution.
It is the blueprint by which our government is to be operated, yet many
Christians have never read this short document through even
once!

We often hear it said that American law is based on
the Bible, and that fact is true. But how many Christians can actually explain
why? This book is a must-read for every American
Christian.

“How do you separate church and state? “…SBC Site Response

How do you separate church and state?

How I demonstrate the wall of separation, of the government from affecting religious liberty, is to exercise my free speech right to preach the Gospel on the street, to anyone I choose, without regard to government intervention or prevention, encouraging those who do likewise (like Michael Marcavage of RepentAmerica.com).
Indeed, the expectation of the Federalist Papers my ancestor helped to pen, Captain Burwell, the Undersecretary to Thomas Jefferson, did actually affirm the required role of Christianity to the establishment, affirmation and affection on the government of the people, for the people and by the people. Without the role of Christians on government this nation would not now exist, and will not prevail as the bastion of freedom all the world has come to for should Christians fail to do their duty.

Psalm 33, Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous!

Filed under: Scriptures — patrick @ 9:23 pm

The Psalms

Psalm 3333:1 Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous!
Praise is fitting for the upright.
33:2 Give thanks to Yahweh with the lyre.
Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.
33:3 Sing to him a new song.
Play skillfully with a shout of joy!
33:4 For the word of Yahweh is right.
All his work is done in faithfulness.
33:5 He loves righteousness and justice.
The earth is full of the loving kindness of Yahweh.
33:6 By Yahweh’s word, the heavens were made;
all their army by the breath of his mouth.
33:7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap.
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
33:8 Let all the earth fear Yahweh.
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
33:9 For he spoke, and it was done.
He commanded, and it stood firm.
33:10 Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing.
He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.
33:11 The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever,
the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh,
the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
33:13 Yahweh looks from heaven.
He sees all the sons of men.
33:14 From the place of his habitation he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,
33:15 he who fashions all of their hearts;
and he considers all of their works.
33:16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an army.
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
33:17 A horse is a vain thing for safety,
neither does he deliver any by his great power.
33:18 Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his loving kindness;
33:19 to deliver their soul from death,
to keep them alive in famine.
33:20 Our soul has waited for Yahweh.
He is our help and our shield.
33:21 For our heart rejoices in him,
because we have trusted in his holy name.
33:22 Let your loving kindness be on us, Yahweh,
since we have hoped in you.

Psalm 8, “Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth…”

Filed under: Scriptures — Tags: — patrick @ 6:56 am

The Psalms

Psalm 8

For the Chief Musician; on an instrument of Gath. A Psalm by David.

8:1 Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth,
who has set your glory above the heavens!
8:2 From the lips of babes and infants you have established strength,
because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.
8:3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;
8:4 what is man, that you think of him?
What is the son of man, that you care for him?
8:5 For you have made him a little lower than God,
and crowned him with glory and honor.
8:6 You make him ruler over the works of your hands.
You have put all things under his feet:
8:7 All sheep and cattle,
yes, and the animals of the field,
8:8 The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea,
and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
8:9 Yahweh, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
